| John H. Watson, M.D. was born in 1852 and graduated from the University of London Medical School. He worked at St. Bartholomew's Hospital while at university. After matriculation, he studied Army Surgery at Netley and served with Her Majesty's armed forces as an Army Assistant Surgeon attached to the Fifth Northumberland Fusiliers. He was removed from his regiment and attached to the Berkshires, with whom he served at the fatal battle of Maiwand. He was wounded in battle and suffered from enteric fever prior to returning to London on pension to recover from his wounds. He currently maintains a Surgery in London and often assists Sherlock Holmes in his investigations. Dr. Watson lives in London. |
