Founder Mycroft Holmes has suggested the use of a recordto remark upon the updates, expansions other changes whichtake place at the Diogenes Club.  He has suggested calling it The Commonplace Book, after a book in use by his brother and Honorary Member, Sherlock Holmes.  The club membership has agreed to this suggestion.

January 16, 2000
The Diogenes Club Library is expanded by the addition of The Sherlock Holmes Collecting pages.  The Diogenes Club is updated with the addition of scans of first-edition and other volumes in the Sherlock Holmes Library.  These may be found on the Information Pages.
January 28, 2000
The Diogenes Club is updated with the addition of scans of first-edition and other volumes in the Sherlock Holmes Library.  These may be found on the Information Pages.  The Diogenes Club Abbreviations Page is expanded by the addition of the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes Kanonical abbreviations.
February 4, 2000
The Diogenes Club is updated with new OnMouseOver animated graphics on the Entrance page and the Main page.  The supplementary information pages were renamed Good Old Index pages and a new Good Old Index graphic was added.

The Diogenes Club is updated with additional scans and information in the Good Old Index pages.
March 13, 2000
The Diogenes Club is updated with additional books and scans on the Special Collectibles pages.  The Hall Gallery was renamed The Gallery, the main Club page had changes made in the order of the doorways to other club rooms and a new page called Canonical Writings, was added as a link off the Special Collectibles page and the site map.  The Diogenes Club is proud to have been added to "Sherlockian Sites of Note" at Yoxley Old Place.  A reference to this has been placed on The Morning Post.
March 31, 2000
The Diogenes Club is updated with a change in the spelling of the club name from Diogenese to Diogenes to maintain Canonical Correctness.  The URL is still spelled Diogenese and will remain so.  The Manager's Office has been renamed The Secretary's Office, in keeping with convention in British Clubs.  The Diogenes Club is expanded with additions to the Morning Post, including two new posts from Chris Redmond of Sherlockian.Net and Rick Freeman (Fred Porlock) of Yoxley Old Place.  Minor graphics and other changes to speed up loads were put into place.  A Grading Condition page has been added to the Sherlock Holmes Collecting pages.  Notification has been received that The Insidious Ring of Moriarty is in "limbo" and is currently not working properly.  Notification on the site was put up.
April 9, 2000
The Diogenes Club is updated by completion of the spelling change from Diogenese to Diogenes.  The Diogenes Club is expanded with the addition of a Good Old Index page for The Man who was Wanted.

The Diogenes Club is updated by changing the Membership List to include Members, Honorary Members and Honorary Members, Emeritus.

The Diogenes Club is updated by new graphics and other changes to The Gallery, including entirely new works of art.

The Diogenes Club is expanded by the addition of Google Search links on pivotal pages.  The Diogenes Club is updated by subdividing the Commonplace book into Volumes, with 1999 Entries placed in Volume 1.
May 11, 2000
The Diogenes Club is expanded by the addition to the Library of the Inspection Reports of the Norwood Building Inspectors, The Sherlock Holmes Society of Charleston, West Virginia (scholarly writings about the writings), along with a link to the Society's Home Page in the Stranger's Room and selected other pages.

The Diogenes Club is expanded by the addition of Christopher Redmond and Rick Freeman to the Membership Directory of the Diogenes Club.  The Diogenes Club is updated with new graphics to speed up load time.

The Diogenes Club is expanded by the addition of Dorothy L. Sayers and August W. Derleth to the Membership Directory of the Diogenes Club and the addition of the FictionSearch Engine to the Analytical Engines to search for fiction and writing-related information.

The Diogenes Club reached its first Milestone of 1000 SITE VISITS on this date.  Thank you!  The Diogenes Club is expanded by the addition of a scan of the 1993 facsimile of the First British Edition of A Study in Scarlet.  See the Good Old Index of STUD.

The Diogenes Club is updated by replacement of the old Javascript Site Search Utility with the Atomz Search Engine.
July 4, 2000
The Diogenes Club is updated by replacement of the old Insidious Ring of Moriarty WebRing code with new code.  The Ring is now fully operational.  New scans of collectible Sherlockiana were added to the Good Old Index pages for the Adventures, Memoirs and Return and new scans were added to the Special Collectibles sections.

The Diogenes Club is expanded by the addition of William S. Baring-Gould, Sidney Paget and Frederic Dorr Steele to the Membership Directory.

The Diogenes Club is expanded with the addition of a page regarding the passing of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as a link from the Doyle page from the Memebership List of the Diogenes Club.

The Diogenes Club is updated by new artwork in the Gallery.

The Diogenes Club is expanded with the addition of The Nashville Scholars of the Three Pipe Problem and a link to WelcomeHolmes egroup to the Stranger's Room.
